The wildly popular Capital Region Classic $100,000 guaranteed No Limit Texas Hold’em tournament will be returning to Rivers this month!

The big money action returns to Rivers on August 23-27 following a successful inaugural event in May that drew 1,095 total entries from eleven states and Canada generating a prize pool of $272,655. It was the richest and largest poker tournament in Capital Region History.

Registration for the Capital Region Classic opens August 12 at the main cashier cage on the Rivers gaming floor and $65 satellite tournaments will be held in Rivers Poker Room August 20 – 22. Day One buy-ins cost $260 and players will receive 25,000 in starting chips. All day 1 start times will begin at 11am & 7pm. The Capital Region Classic will have unlimited re-entries with registration closing on Sunday, August 27 before the start of Level 15.

Gaming Promotions and Giveaways

Wheel of Fortune Slot Tournaments – Rivers is hosting not one, but two days of slot tournament action this month for both Rush Rewards members and top slot players! The Wheel of Fortune Slot Tournaments will be held Friday and Saturday, August 18 and 19.

Rush Rewards members will be able to earn a seat in the $15,000 Wheel of Fortune Slot Tournament on August 18. Players who earn 25 Points on any slot or video poker machine starting at 6 a.m. will earn a seat in one of 24 rounds of slot tournament action. The top scorers in each round will win up to $250 in free slot play, and the day’s top scorer will take home $3,000 and tickets to see a live taping of Wheel of Fortune.

Invited Rush Rewards members will be able to play in the $25,000 VIP Wheel of Fortune Slot Tournament on August 19. Starting at 2 p.m., this invite-only, 15-round tournament will culminate in a final prize of $7,500 in cash for the top performer.

Station Casinos Giveaway Day

2017 Infiniti QX30 Giveaway – Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady will be giving the public a chance to win a brand-new 2017 Infiniti QX30 this month! The Giveaway will take place on September 2, 2017 from 4 to 9 p.m. in the Rivers Event Center. Rush Rewards members will earn points towards entries starting on Sunday, August 6 at 6 a.m., and must activate their entries starting 2 p.m. on the day of the drawing to be eligible. Thirty-six winners will be invited to draw a unique number for a spin of the roulette wheel, which will determine the winner of the 2017 Infiniti QX30. Other winners will receive free slot play or up to $2,500 cash.

$35,000 Temperature’s Rising Drawings – Rush Rewards members will have hourly opportunities to win up to $10,000 in cash on Saturday, August 5, during the $35,000 Temperature’s Rising Drawings! Winners will be drawn on the hour from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., with cash prizes growing every hour until the $10,000 drawing at 11 p.m. Members will start earning entries for slots of video poker play starting Monday, July 31 at 6 a.m., and must activate their entries on August 5 starting at 1 p.m. to be qualified for the drawings.

Rivers Track Chair Giveaway – Rush Rewards members will be able to claim a Rivers collapsible Track Chair on Tuesday, August 1. Members who earn 400 tier points, starting at 6 a.m., will be able to claim their chair from noon until 8 p.m. at the Rush Rewards Center on the Rivers gaming floor. Limit of 1 gift per person, while supplies last.

$10,000 Mystery Prize Wheel Hot Seats – Each and every Sunday in August will present three Rush Rewards guests each hour from 12- 7 p.m. with the chance to spin the prize wheel. Prizes range from $100-$300 in Free Slot play and a mystery prize, which ranges from $500-$10,000.

$30,000 VIP Blackjack Tournament – Invited guests will have the opportunity to participate in a Blackjack tournament in Van Slyck’s. Each player will be given 10,000 nonvalue tournament chips. There will be a preliminary round, semifinal round, and a final round, which will have seven final players total.

Food and Beverage

The Electric City Food Truck Festival – The Rivers patio will come alive with offerings from the best food trucks in the Capital Region and beyond on Saturday, August 19, from noon to 5 p.m. Enjoy music from the TS Ensemble while sampling all the offerings.

Events & Entertainment

Enlightened Rouges: Allman Brother Tribute Band – The Rivers Event Center will be rocking on Friday, August 11, when Enlightened Rouges brings tributes of Allman Brothers hits to Schenectady. The concert is open to all Rush Rewards members, and limited seating is available on a first come, first serve basis. Bourbon and Kentucky Whiskey specials, as well as beer specials, will be offered when doors open at 5 p.m. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Jockey Legends Meet and Greet – This track season, some of the biggest names in racing will be at Rivers Casino! Jockey Legends Ron Turcotte (Secretariat) & Jean Cruguet (Seattle Slew) will be at Rivers Casino & Resort on Saturday, August 12 for a meet and greet and autograph signing from 6-7:30pm in the Event Center. This event is open to the public. Memorabilia will be on display throughout the Event Center & Pre-Function, and all proceeds will benefit the Permanently Disabled Jockey Fund.

Ninedeez Nite – Reach to the back of your closet and get ready to relive the best music of the nineties in Van Slyck’s on Friday, August 4. The Ninedeez Nite party starts at 10 p.m.

On The Patio – The Rivers On-the-Patio entertainment series continues in August with a full schedule of live music on the Capital Region’s best riverfront venue, Thursday (5 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and Saturday (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.) with Rush to the River and Rock on the Mohawk!
